Natural Sciences Classroom: Box Turtle Science, 11–11:45 a.m.
The Eastern Box Turtle is North Carolina’s state reptile and is our only turtle with a terrestrial lifestyle. Learn about this unique turtle and how it is adapted to living on land. Find out more about box turtles! Sign Up

Storytime Explorations: Journey Sticks, 10 a.m.
No matter where you live, the natural world is filled with beauty waiting to be discovered. Go for a walk and collect natural items that you find along the way. Create your own “journey stick” to commemorate your adventure, whether it is just around the block or far from home! Connect with the great outdoors through this activity and recommended reading. Member Exclusive: Venom vs. Poison, 2–3 p.m.
Join us to learn about venom, poison, and the differences between the two. Museum educators will share how venom and poison evolved and how flora and fauna use them. Museum Movie Night: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 6–9 p.m.
At 6 p.m., join us on Zoom to watch a short film from the AV Geeks’ archive and then stay on so you can chat along about the movie! (If you don’t own the movie, it is available for rent online.) After the movie, we will play some movie-related trivia and have Q&A with an expert on snake communication. This program is being offered for free, but donations are appreciated.
