The tasting will feature up to 20 varieties of tomatoes, grown by Wilkes County vegetable farmers as well as Master Gardener volunteers. Some of the entries will come from Owens Farm, Tumbling Shoals Farm, Jeremiah Church, and Juicy Fruit Produce, among other farms. There will be a mix of heirloom and newer varieties, and tomatoes of different shapes, sizes, and colors.

Those who participate in the tasting will be able to try as many of the varieties as they would like and vote on their favorite variety. They will also be entered to win door prizes. Farms that enter the winning tomato varieties will also receive prizes.

The N.C. Cooperative Extension table will also have information on growing and preserving tomatoes and healthful recipes that feature tomatoes.
