Christina Wrenn from Zebulon received an NC AgVentures grant to convert four high tunnel frames into production space for growing cut flowers in the off-season.

Tracy Ivey from Fremont received an NC AgVentures grant to retrofit two containers into cold storage units for cut flowers on the family farm.

Brook Freeman received an NC AgVentures grant to add another well for irrigation, so she can expand production and extend the growing season for produce and flowers.

Russel Bar from West Jefferson received an NC AgVentures grant to add evaporative cooling to the greenhouse to provide more growth for their Fraser fir plugs.

Cara Dunnavant from Archer Lodge received an NC AgVentures grant to expand beef freezer storage on the family farm.

Helene Dooley from Mocksville received an NC AgVentures grant to improve the farm sheep handling system for safety and efficiency.

Hunter Jordan from Lexington raises cows and crops to feed the livestock. Hunter received an NC AgVentures grant to add a new feed area to expand the operation, and be more efficient.

James Wilson Brown III received an NC AgVentures grant to establish the Brown Farm Beef mini-farm store.

Jasper Henderson from Cedar Grove received an NC AgVentures grant for livestock handling equipment.

John Weatherman from Mocksville received an NC AgVentures grant to streamline the cattle feeding process on the family farm.

Joseph Wachs from Siler City operate CA Brown Farms where they raise cattle, goats and sheep. He received an NC AgVentures grant to renovate, the processing and weaning areas

Justin Halama from Lexington received an NC AgVentures grant to add handling equipment for small ruminants on the family farm.

Kaleby Little from Marshville received an NC AgVentures grant to expand the feed storage facility on the family farm.

Melanie Jordan from Fleetwood received an NC AgVentures grant to install a cattle sweep system which will allow cattle workers to gather small groups of cattle and flow them into the chute with less stress on both the cattleperson and the cattle.

Victoria Crabtree Clayton from Cedar Grove received an NC AgVentures grant to expand pastureland for farm to table beef cattle operation.

William Dinkins from Yadkinville received a grant from NC AgVentures to renovate an existing building to create a farm store for meat products.

Steve Condia from Whitakers received an NC AgVenutures grant to set up a refrigerated mobile meat-processing unit for livestock.

Tony Francis from Enfield received an NC AgVentures grant to update cattle handling equipment to provide a safer working environment and reduce animal stress.

Travis Anderson from Four Oaks received an NC AgVentures grant to build a barn to house does when they are birthing.

Anna Jade Hughes Westmoreland from Mount Airy received an NC AgVentures grant for the family farm sheep operation.

Rex and Beth Rhyne raise Black Angus cows and Berkshire pigs on their farm in Angier. With the NC AgVentures grant, they plan to purchase the equipment to raise and process poultry.

Charity Smith from Lexington received an NC AgVentures grant for her rabbit and apiary farm.

Michael Jones from Franklin received an NC AgVentures grant to expand the farm retail space where he sells farm grown beef and pork.

DAIRY

Larry Galliher from Harmony received an NC AgVentures grant to expand the dairy milk house, increase milk production and meet the requirements for Grade A milk in North Carolina.

Roddy Purser from Marshville received an NC AgVentures grant to build a feeder and bunk space to provide a safe area for handling young heifers, and expand his herd of milk cows.

GRAINS

Bruce Whitfield from Hurdle Mills received an NC AgVentures grant to purchase Roller Crimper for his organic farm.

William Saunders from Burlington received an NC AgVentures grant to purchase a pallet-wrapping machine for bagging corn.

POULTRY

Ben Harris from Durham received an NC AgVentures grant to add a regenerative broiler chicken enterprise to the family farm operation.

Saundra Lewis from McGrady received an NC AgVentures grant to purchase poultry processing equipment for their family farm.

Sabrina Moore from Westfield received an NC AgVentures grant to purchase equipment to process their pastured raised poultry.

Valarie Jarvis from Durham received an NC AgVentures grant to construct an education and chicken processing outpost on the family farm.

Myrlande Saint-Jean from Franklin received an NC AgVentures grant to transform five acres into rotational pasture for goats and chickens.

COMMUNITY GRANTS

The Agricultural Sciences Department at Alamance Community College prepares students for fields in various areas of agriculture with one of those fields being sustainable agriculture. They received an NC AgVentures grant to purchase materials for pasture poultry housing and processing equipment to process various poultry species.

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Warren County Center received a grant for poultry processing equipment that will be available to farmers in the county that want to process their own poultry.

The Pittsboro Farmers’ Market (PFM) is a producer-only organization featuring vendors who grow, raise, or create their products within a 50-mile radius of the market. They received an NC AgVentures grant to improve the infrastructure of the retail area, which will make the space more welcoming and allow more vendors to participate.

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Harnett County Center received a grant to purchase mobile poultry processing equipment to rent to farmers that want to process their own poultry.

Davie Soil and Water received a grant to purchase livestock scales and corral panels to assist livestock producers work their livestock more efficiently and safely.

The Bea Excellent Association (BEA) received an NC AgVentures grant to purchase materials to educate the community about bees and their importance to the food supply.
