Learn the basics of homesteading at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Wilkes County  Center on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be included in the registration fee for the workshop. 

The “Wilkes Homesteading Workshop 101” will feature Extension experts and the Wilkes Community College Business College. Topics presented in this informative, all-day workshop will include: small fruit production, best practices, forest management, backyard poultry, food preservation, raising small livestock and increasing produce yield. 

This workshop will offer basic knowledge for anyone interested in acquiring homesteading skills. All information included in this program is researched based and straight from knowledgeable Extension authorities which are a trusted resource of agricultural information. Instructors will range from local Extension personnel to area specialized agents from across North Carolina. 

Registration fee is $25 per person which will include lunch for the day. Please be sure to register by Friday, September 1, 2023 no later than 5 p.m. Mail your payment to: N.C. Cooperative Extension, Wilkes County Center, Attention: Homesteading Workshop, 416 Executive Drive, Suite B, Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or payments can be brought by office. All payments need to be received and receipted by September 1, 2023.
