Join N.C. Cooperative Extension, Wilkes County Center and Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Wilkes County for our annual tomato tasting at the Wilkes County Farmers Market, located at the Yadkin Valley Market Place at 445 CBD Loop, North Wilkesboro, on August 8th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The public is invited to stop by and try a wide variety of tasty tomatoes, then vote on which one they think is the best. By voting, you will be entered to win one of our two door prizes. Our Wilkes County Master Gardeners will also be at the market, handing out information on North Carolina tomato varieties, fun tomato recipes to try, and can assist with any plant questions.

Tomato growers and home gardeners interested in entering tomatoes in the tasting should contact Matthew Clay at 336-651-7333 or mhclay@ncsu.edu. Prizes will be awarded for the top three tomato varieties. Everyone is welcome to participate, and entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
