Stewards of the Land Banquet is to provide Wilkes County landowners with knowledge of voluntary programs offered to assist landowners with protecting and preserving their agricultural lands. This is in recognition of the importance of agriculture to the economic and social life of Wilkes County. As in recent years, NC has led the nation in the loss of farms. This banquet is supported by NC Agriculture Development & Farmland Preservation Trust Fund grant, Wilkes County Voluntary and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts Board, Wilkes Agricultural Advisory Board, Wilkes Soil and Water Conservation District, and Wilkes County Board of Commissioners.
