Job Description My role is to educate consumers on how to live healthy lifestyles through food-based programs. I encourage healthy living through nutrition and chronic disease prevention classes and demonstrations (including NC Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education or SNAP-Ed), food preservation classes, local food systems education and support, and food safety programs for all ages. I provide education or support in the above areas to early care and education sites, schools, markets, food pantries, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, government agencies, and other community partners. I also serve as the local foods coordinator for our county and work on projects aimed at promoting and increasing the consumption of locally grown and raised food products.
