Learn the basics of homesteading at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Wilkes County Center on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be included in the registration fee for the workshop.

The “Wilkes Homesteading Workshop 101” will feature Extension experts and the Wilkes Community College Business College. Topics presented in this informative, all-day workshop will include: small fruit production, best business practices, egg production, fruit tree establishment and orchard planting, food preservation methods, and vineyard establishment.

This workshop will offer basic knowledge for anyone interested in acquiring homesteading skills. All information included in this program is research-based and straight from knowledgeable Extension experts, who are trusted sources of agricultural information. Instructors will range from local Extension personnel to area specialized agents from across North Carolina.

The registration fee is $25 per person, which includes lunch for the day. Please register by Friday, September 6, 2024, no later than 5 p.m. Mail your payment to Wilkes County Cooperative Extension, Attention Homesteading Workshop, 416 Executive Drive, Suite B, Wilkesboro, NC 28659, or bring it to the office. All payments need to be received and received by September 6, 2024.
